Q&A: We transform Hannah Barrett's bedroom into a cosy retreat

We were excited to help Hannah Barrett with a personalised styling consultation. The result? A beautiful bedroom she and husband Beauden Barrett both love! We chatted to Hannah to find out more about her gorgeous bedroom makeover.

Hi Hannah! Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

I do a lot of different things with my day. I primarily do social media content creation and consulting. I have a whole lot of other side hustles and projects that I work on. No two days are the same, which is what I love.

Can you talk us through the process of your Città style consultation?

I’m a huge Città fan. When I walk into the store, I pretty much want to buy the whole display. I love how everything is so tastefully put together. For me, I knew what I liked—I just didn’t know how to bring it all together. I needed the help of the stylists to advise what products would work best in my space. I wanted a bit of colour and for things to be modern, functional and cosy. Città’s stylist came over to see my space and we discussed what my needs were and what I liked. They then sent me through two styling options. It was nice to be presented with two completely different options and make a call on what I preferred. I then went into the store to look at the products and the stylist assembled the look on an in-store bed.

What’s your favourite part of your bedroom makeover? Do you have a favourite piece?

Everyone on Instagram always asks me about the Arc Mirror. I love love the mirror. From a functionality perspective, I love the Compound Tall Boy. We have two of them in our bedroom. Beauden’s got so much training gear so we did need that extra storage space. I think the symmetry of having one on each side looks really nice and I’ve styled mine with perfumes and a mirror on top. My absolute favourite part would be the bedding. It’s the statement of the room and the Pinstripe Linen Duvet is just so beautiful. I love how the bedding is trans-seasonal. In summer, we can just take the duvet-inner out and just have the cover with white sheets. In winter, we can pair the duvet with heavy textures and dark colours—like a velvet throw or darker sheets or cushion covers.

How would you describe your décor style?

I like minimalistic and modern design, which is why I like the timeless Compound Tall Boy and Moon Table Lamp. I also love adding some warmth—like a pop of colour. It always seems to be pink, which is why I love the pale pink Quilted Bedspread.

Generally speaking, what are your top tips for a well-styled bedroom and home?

I would say leave it to the experts. It’s so nice getting that help and it takes the room to the next level. The consultants help tie everything in and they understood what I was after. They weren’t pushy and I didn’t feel like I had to get a particular product—it was a really collaborative process.
