Bedroom feature : Katrina

We asked Katrina, Marketing & Retail Manager for Citta Design, to talk to us about what she loves (and hides) in her own bedroom.

What is your favourite thing about your bedroom?
The view.  The bedroom opens onto the central courtyard, when we moved in about a year ago we took down all the window dressings with the intention of replacing them and have never quite got there!  So, lying in bed I can look out at the sky and see the branches of the palm tree outside the door; it’s kind of like waking up in a resort.

What is never missing from your bedside table?
Unread books. Life is pretty busy so, although I always have a book on the go, it does take me a while to get through them!  Lucky for me I have a good supply of books on loan so there is always a pile waiting for me.  Currently reading about Elon Musk and next in line is a Danish thriller trilogy.

Do you make your bed every morning?
Absolutely.  Having a bedroom that opens onto the courtyard means it’s basically on show to the living area, so that keeps me on my toes with the bedroom styling. Plus I love getting into a nicely made bed at night, makes me feel like all is under control.

Can you share a styling tip for the bedroom?
I’m no expert on styling, so my tip is just to keep it simple and not try to achieve something that can’t be done in the three minutes before you run out the door.

What did you remove before you took these shots?
Er, quite a few things actually!  The pile of the aforementioned unread books, clothes, suitcase yet to be unpacked, and a not-very-attractive-but-very-functional alarm clock.  Let’s just say this shoot caught me at the end of a very busy week!
